Week 6 Day 1 - Monday, Sept 29 - Homework

1. Continue working on Project 1. Midpoint critique schedule for next class Wednesday, Oct 1, 11:30am.

File should be uploaded to instruction station as single PDF document (recommend using InDesign template on dropbox to layout your presentation) with your team name on it.

Presentation should include the following:
  1. Project Title w/ team members names
  2. At least 2 location photo renders (photograph bg of space with digitized visualization of installation components)
  3. At least 2 Diagrams/maps of installation setup (aerial view and side view)
  4. Rough cut of animations/videos to be used in installation (quicktime h.264, embedded in pdf presentation)
  5. If designing, creating, utilizing any other audio/visual, tactile components, please display them in your presentation 
  6. Posters/Wayfinding (1 with project name, team member names and project description)

Week 5 Day 2 - Wednesday, Sept 24 - Homework

1. Continue working on Project 1

Download the template files (on dropbox in Presentation Template folder) to be used as a guide to put together your Midpoint Crit Presentation (scheduled for next Wednesday, Oct 1, 11:30am). Week 5 Day 1 - Monday, Sept 22 - Homework

1. Continue working on Proj 1. Progress checks will be made next class in regards to animations/video editing, as well as initial design of posters (8.5"x11" paper for directions/time of installation, as well as 24"x36" poster with project title, student names, project description).

Rough Cut Critique scheduled for next Wednesday, Oct 1, 11:30am.

Week 3 Day 2 - Wednesday, Sept 10 - Homework

1. Continue working in Project 1 groups. The following files are to be completed by next class:

Moodboard
Collection of imagery that represents the intended visual language/style to be explored in your animations, projections, static graphics, sculptural elements, materials, signage, etc).

Moodboard(s) must be saved as a series of PDFs or via sharable Pinterest board and submitted to Rachel by start of next class.

Storyboards
If you will be exploring time based narrative techniques in your project, please develop rough storyboards sketches that will map out visual language, composition, movement/motion, timing/pacing, duration, etc.

Storyboards must be saved as PDF or scanned and saved as JPG/PNG and submitted to Rachel by start of next class.

Locational Renders
Begin to narrow down the location for your groups installation. Keep in mind the homecoming schedule during that week, and how various Homecoming events (and their corresponding locations) may affect/influence the attendance and participation with your installation.

Please develop detailed sketch of installation set up (what equipment you plan on using, projectors, computers, kinect sensor, projector tables, extension cords, speakers, etc), as well as begin to construct accurate scaled drawings of each location and equipment set up to help with projection distance testing and troubleshooting that will begin to take place in the coming weeks.

Sept 3. Week 2 Day 2 - Homework

Concept Proposal for Project 1 due next class. This must include the following:

At least 2 paragraphs summarizing/outlining the components of your project (what will we see, hear, touch, etc).
At least 4 large sketches (overview and details) of what you envision your experience to look like.

Please be sure to take into consideration and address your target audience (who are they?) as well as your proposed location(s) (where on campus, inside/outside, etc.)

Final Proposals must be submitted as PDF file (upload to dropbox P1 Proposal folder) by 11:30am next class.
